Hollywood Heritage and the Hollywood Foreign Press Association Present: The Amazing Cartoons of Max Fleischer
Hollywood Heritage and The Hollywood Foreign Press Association invite you to explore the fascinating world of Max Fleischer and his amazing cartoons on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at 7:30PM.
Max Fleischer was an inventor, film director and producer who became a pioneer in the development of animated cartoons and served as the head of Fleischer Studios, which he co-founded with his younger brother Dave, in 1929. Max created Koko the Clown, Betty Boop, Bimbo, and Grampy and brought the characters Popeye, and Superman to the movie screen. He was responsible for several technological innovations including the Rotoscope, the "Bouncing Ball" song films, and the "Stereoptical Process".
Join us for a special evening celebrating this amazing studio through archival footage and animated cartoons. Mark Fleischer, Max's grandson and Chairman and CEO of Fleischer Studios will be on hand to give us a personal history of the studios inception and where it is headed today.
And yes, we'll be hosting our famous $1 raffle featuring an exciting array of prizes! See you at the barn!
