Cathedral Founders' Concert
The Cathedral Choirs Founders Concert each May commemorates the construction of the Cathedral of Saint Joseph, as well as the feast of Saint Joseph the Worker, patron of the Cathedral. Over a century ago, in the spring of 1916, the churchs cornerstone was laid. Today the Cathedral is more beautiful than ever, thanks to the architectural and artistic restoration completed in 2011. This year the Cathedral Choir will perform two major works with orchestra and guest soloists: the Coronation Mass of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and Felix Mendelssohns setting of Psalm 42. These pieces are well-known and beloved by audiences around the world, and for good reason come enjoy them in the Cathedral acoustic!
