Songwriter Showcase 2006 Vol. 2
Featured performers include: Charisse Kahler, Forrest Whitlow, Jim Kurtz, Amy Saia, John Mitchell and Laura Giess. Original acoustic music from local performing songwriters will be presented in the round.
Charisse writes wonderful portrait and story songs. Her sunny voice is comfortable in a variety of styles from country and folk to jazzy funk and rock. Forrest invented alternative folk. You'll hear great songwriting that is fresh and original. Jim writes songs in the style of traditional folk, but be prepared for lyrics more in line with Steve Goodman. John writes award winning humorus songs. Warped is good. Laura writes from the heart. You'll want an encore, or two, or three before you go.
