Independent Opera Company presents: La Traviata by G. Verdi
One of the staples of operatic repertoire, La Traviata is based on a play Lady of the Camellias by Alexander Dumas, which tells the story of a fallen woman, in fact the very title of the opera Traviata means "woman led astray" in Italian! A touching story about two people who are truly meant for each other, but conventions of the society interfere. This is one of the best known operas by Verdi with such famous numbers as Libiamo, Sempre Libera, Di Provenza and more! Sung in Italian with English supertitles.
