The Rose Ensemble: Musique et Masqueray
The Rose Ensemble, a professional ensemble from the Twin Cities, has been a mainstay of the Sacred Arts Series over the years. In this, their fourth appearance on the series, the Rose Ensemble will bring a special program in honor of Emmanuel Masqueray (1861-1917), the French architect who designed the cathedrals in St Paul and Sioux Falls. This concert of French choral music will be presented at four of Masquerays landmark churches in Minneapolis and Saint Paul, as well as at our Cathedral. The program will include a brief presentation by University of Minnesota Professor Alan Lathrop on the history and architecture of the Cathedral of Saint Joseph. Rose Ensemble concerts are always stunning, and this performance, so closely tied to our landmark Cathedral, promises to be especially memorable.
