Adult Pizza Party: Megan Gogerty

Adult Pizza Party combines Des Moines' best pizza with the Midwest's finest comedy for one low price! This month's show features headliner Megan Gogerty, with Brandon Patrick, Spencer Loucks, and Toll McGrane. Hosted by Tommy Morgan, Jr..

Tickets are only $10 and include the show and our best-in-town pizza buffet. Doors open and pizza is served at 6:30, and the show begins at 7.

Megan is a comedian, apparently.

She also writes plays and specializes in one-woman shows where she is the one woman. These shows are comedies and theyve taken her all over the country. All of her stories are true, except for the parts she made up.

Based in Iowa City like a normal person, Megan is known for her trenchant political commentary except for when she's talking about her hair. She offers bold pop cultural analysis with references stopping at 2006. Family friendly, except for all the curse words and Brad Pitt sex dreams, Megan opened for Louie Anderson at the Plaza Casino in Las Vegas; featured for Eddie Pepitone and Rachel Bloom at Green Gravel Comedy Festival in Iowa City; featured for Cameron Esposito at Iowa Citys Mission Creek Festival; and performed at the Laugh Riot Grrl Fest in Los Angeles. Shes won numerous playwriting awards, but she doesnt make a big deal out of it.

Megan, improbably, is also a professor of playwriting at the University of Iowa Playwrights Workshop, where she teaches playwriting, comedy, dramaturgy and script analysis, musical theatre history, and the history of standup comedy in America to graduate and undergraduate students.
